What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, commonly called CBD, is one of the compounds found in the hemp and marijuana plant, which are both strains of the cannabis plant. Aethics products contain CBD derived from hemp grown on our own farm.  We do not use CBD from the marijuana plant.

Will Aethics™ products get me high?

No. Aethics™ CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, not the marijuana plant, and contains 0.3% or less THC, the psychoactive compound found in the marijuana plant that causes a psychoactive effect.  When taken at the recommended dosage level, there is not enough THC present to make you high.

Is CBD legal in my state?

Forty-seven states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico have passed laws that permit the recreational or medicinal use, or both, of CBD.  Only Idaho, South Dakota and Nebraska have not passed such laws.  Because of hemp’s relationship to marijuana, CBD has been burdened by the laws and stigma associated with marijuana, despite the fact that hemp-derived CBD products do not make you high when used as recommended.  More detail regarding state-by-state laws can be found here.

Will I fail a drug test if I use an Aethics™ product?

Drug tests are designed to identify THC in the body.  Because Aethics™ products contain only a trace of THC (.3% or less), it is unlikely you would fail a drug test after ingesting or applying a CBD product topically in accordance with dosage/application directions. However, depending on the sensitivity of the test, how much CBD you ingested/applied, and other variables, it is possible you could fail a drug test. It’s best to understand your employer’s, school’s, or sports team’s rules as it relates to CBD.

Is hemp oil and CBD oil the same thing?

No. Hemp oil is derived from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains very little CBD.  CBD oil is extracted from the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant and is rich in CBD content.

Do Aethics™ products contain isolate or full spectrum CBD?

Aethics™ offers both isolate (CBD only) and full-spectrum (whole hemp) products. Full-spectrum CBD oil contains an array of hemp plant compounds (cannabinoids, terpenes, minerals, vitamins, fats, and proteins) that work together to provide the greatest therapeutic effect. CBD-only oil or powder, called “isolate,” is CBD separated from other cannabidiol compounds.

Is there research to back up the benefits of CBD?

Likely the most significant report comes from the World Health Organization (WHO). The November 2017 reports notes, “CBD has been demonstrated as an effective treatment of epilepsy in several clinical trials, with one pure CBD product (Epidiolex®) currently in Phase III trials. There is also preliminary evidence that CBD may be a useful treatment for a number of other medical conditions.”  Until recently, the US federal government did not fund scientific research for marijuana or CBD, but that has begun to change with the US National Institute of Health funding over $100M in cannabis research in 2017.  Compelling to us here at Aethics™ is the significant empirical evidence that has come from our conversations with hundreds of people who have experienced a therapeutic benefit by using CBD.

Why should our customers care about Aethics™?

People with active lifestyles often experience pain, inflammation, and anxiety, and CBD addresses all these ailments. This audience cares about their physical well-being and is concerned with what they consume. They balk at OTC and Rx meds and want assurances that they are taking only CBD, not THC.

Created by a team of athletes and coaches for athletes and anyone with an active lifestyle. Safe, effective. Trusted.

How are Aethics’™ products specifically formulated for athletes?

Created by athletes, for athletes who largely feel the same aches, pains, and sleeplessness. Aethics™ engineers trusted CBD products that are seed-to-sale, for people equally concerned that is particularly wary about what they are putting in and on their bodies.

Our seed-to-sale means we grow, process and sell our own CBD.

How is Aethics™ different from other CBD products? Other pain remedies?

Aethics™ is different from other CBD products because of our Strasburg Certification and that we are uniquely seed-to-sale – we control growth, processing, production, and sale of our products.

Aethics™ is different from other pain remedies because its natural, organically grown and non-addictive. Over the counter, remedies are expensive to take daily and cannot be taken for long periods of time. Opioids are not recommended for use for long-term pain and are addictive and require increasing dosages to get the same effect.

How do we know CBD is effective?

There is massive empirical evidence to support that CBD is effective for pain, anxiety, sleep, inflammation. Harvard Medical Journal and the Mayo Clinic have also endorsed it for treating epilepsy, specifically in children. As more studies will happen with the passing of the Farm Bill, more evidence will be available about CBD and its effectiveness.

In a recent Consumer Reports nationally representative survey of 1,003 adults, 13 percent of American adults said they had used CBD to treat a health issue; of those, nearly 90 percent said it helped.”

Is CBD safe?

A World Health Organization report has found no adverse health outcomes and suggests several medical applications for Cannabidiol, a.k.a. CBD, including inflammation, pain, anxiety, and insomnia. With the passing of the Farm Bill, hemp has been removed entirely from the Controlled Substances Act.

Do you expect CBD to be more widely accepted across professional sports leagues?

Not surprisingly, we at Aethics™ believe so, and for good reason.  CBD helps relieve many of the ailments experienced by athletes, whether you walk occasionally or compete at a professional level.  The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which fights globally against doping in sports, approved the use of cannabidiol by athletes beginning in January 2018.
